So let’s see – just a FEW of the things our President has managed on day one:
1. Issued a pay freeze on all senior staff who make more than $100,000.00 a year, saying that families are tightening their belts, and so should Washington.
2. Banned lobbyist from giving gifts of any size to any member of his adminsitration, saying he’s going to make a clean break from “business as usual.”
3. Going to make his entire staff attend an ethics briefing.
4. Has made it clear that there has been far too much secrecy – so he’s going to change the way the government interprets the Freedom of Fnformation act.
5. Guantanamo is going to be shut down. Soon.
6. Still intends to withdran from Iraq over the next 16 months or so.
7. Proposed a huge economic stimulus package.
8. Got on the phone and has been contacting leaders in Israel, Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan to try to help maintain the tenuous peace they’ve established over the last 24 hours.
9. All this? And went to the National Cathedral for a prayer service, too.
I think we’ve elected Superman.
